FOREVER SEARCH

It has become the vision that holds truth

The dream that never comes
The stars are lovers that all must burn
If they were mine to choose, I'd have reason to look up
But little control we all poses
If black is my light, have no cause to fear night

Pain is a way for the ones who talk
translated to us all in some form of truth
Lessons that never resolve upon arrival
Just a permanent vacation in the form of hurt, in which they all reside

You give me something to lose
The lesser of two evils
I now hold serenity with a certainty to fail

But without you, I will forever search

BOBBY AND JENNY

THINGS TO LOSE/ BOBBY AND JENNY

Bobby sat next to me in junior high
We played foolish games, watched as the older girls walked by
Bobby had dreams of playing in a band
I spent my summers surfing and chasing girls in the sand
But when that school year started Bobby wasn't there
His mother ditched town over his daddy's affair
The class was just a room, where they taught us a path to choose
To me it was just another room full of things to lose

In a room of things to lose
Outside stood fields of paths to choose
But looking back, it was just another room of things to lose

Graduation day brought high hopes and dreams
we stood there believing in what we could be
But Jenny said she didn't believe in fairy tales, just her and me
Well I never saw Jenny again
We broke our promise to always be friends
We saw it happen to our parents, but we didn't see the clues
Thinking back on that graduation day
It was just another room full of things to lose

In a room of things to lose
Surrounded by fields of paths to choose
But looking back, it was just another room of things to lose

Well I heard Bobby took a ride one night, never came back
Must of been that promise he made, promise to ride with that pack
Jenny took her vows back some years ago
I got a lead on night, never took that ride, guess I'll never know
Some nights I sit up and question the things I've lost
The bridges I've burned and at what cost?
Sitting in my room with my pride and the cold heart to prove
These days I can't find much peace in that dim light room
Just a shoe box full of dirty money under my bed
And the ruins of past love in my head

In a room full of things
Room of things to lose

JERSEY GIPSY

Misty boardwalk, cool summer's eve
Danny boy, fast Eddie and me
Danny walks behind, so Eddie couldn't kick his feet, walking on
We crossed that ghost town street
Adding up the flashing lights and all the noise
Think is was me that said,
"Carnivals in town boys!"

Hurry hurry, step right up!
If you've never seen the main attraction
You're in luck!

The first act blows a flaming breath
Behind the accordion sound, faint screams
The bearded lady laughs, she's bursting at the seams!
What's behind that makeshift door?
Fast Eddie was quick to go, I wanted more
Danny boy was still behind
Tight rope walker over head, ever so graceful, ever so blind

Hurry hurry, step right up!
If you've never seen the main attraction
You're in luck!

Walking in that tent door
Cigarettes strewn over the grassy floor
Gipsy dancing on a stage, strong man grunts with fists of rage
She dances with a magnetic charm
Kicking over a warm beer as she grabs my arm
We danced, well... I mostly stepped on her feet
That dress was torn, far from home, far from neat
I was in love, I must confess
To my first class mess in her second-hand dress

Hurry hurry, step right up!
Amidst all the tricks something's real
Tonight the caged tiger breaks free
Tonight dreams are true, you and me

Misty boardwalk, cool summer's eve
Danny boy, fast Eddie carny girl and me
Away from the lights we headed home

Tomorrow the boys will have to walk alone
