José James

Went to see José James last night at the Festival of Perth. You know how sometimes when you see someone live and they don't quite live up to expectations. Well this was the complete opposite of that. José James is even more amazing live than he is on recordings. He, without doubt, has one of the best voices in the music business - interpreting soul classics, his own well crafted originals or even David Bowie's "The Man Who Sold the World" - each song was a treat. José's band was incredible - Takeshi Ohbayashi (keys), Nate Smith (drums) and Solomon Dorsey (bass). Watching José and the band improvise live was an absolute joy. Do yourself a favour and don't miss José James if he is playing in your town.
