I'm Planning a Poem

GREGG DOTOLI: About

I'M PLANNING A POEM

I’M PLANNING A POEM

it’s gonna click

I’ll make it tick

gathered word and

phrase

from all my days

colors in mind

help me find

the clever craze

of coming days

when words array

in bluesy grey

and angel gold

we’re near an ode

HAIKU

busy grey squirrel hears

fall acorns pit pat bounce

dashes out of nest

sun sets on pine run

shadows sprint for tilting sun

branch and bark flashes

bored black calico

studies scuttling beetles

planning an attack

quiet sunrise mirror

orange purple clouds and moon

off wet bullfrog eye

bright red cutthroat trout

sense dancing beetles

splash wakes desert fox

hissing fall raindrops

tapping rich soil and roses

night scents meander

red grey woodpecker

scuttles and hopscotches

listening for ants

IN EACH HEART

in each heart

rivers flow

waiting joys

angel toys

kaleidoscopes and pinwheels

the way love feels

astral keys

of beauty and reverie

in each heart

treasures sleep

promises keep

in heaven’s boat

dreams float

crystal pure forevermore

on Jordan’s shore

SILVER-LIT

mercury moon drips pearly beads

As spirits plant celestial seeds

singing songs of Saturn rings

sterling leaves and ancient kings

white  doves in perpetual flocks

nest eternal in stellar clocks

nightingales whisper

suns hide in caves

moons weave microwave

PETALS OF SHOCK (BLACKFLOWER)

lightning weaves fires

lakes expire

caps melt in time

to species decline

rains burst and flood

coffins of mud

mercury’s rise

death tides

earth weakens

shock beacons

gasp a tune

and welcome doom

Blackflower blooms

CHANCE OF ME

I took love

perfect love

warmer than wool

light like angel touch

truth pure

maraschino sweet

a love for this soul

this soul only

I took love

and tossed it

like a crabapple

I threw a chance of me

into the sea of neverbe

I dream of that chance of me

and loathe this regretful me

i’ll never laugh days away

like my lost chance of me

inspired by

once upon a summertime

LOVE

If love’s blue be turquoise

if love’s rock be diamond

if love’s sound be brook

if love’s tree be redwood

if love’s soft be rose

if love’s shape be heart

if love’s season be spring

if love’s sweet be blossom

if love’s true be you

SONG OF AGO

your clouds

wander alone

lonely moon

blue birds

sing dark tunes

of unbundled love

PSEUDOKU

American words

To capture a unicorn

worth a Western try

POLLEN GUMPTION

Deep Green

canteen

cracked glass

flower has

gold trim

thoughtsdance

common scents

came and went

smokedream melt

spawn starbelt

OVER HILL

when we walk electric-less

after desertgrow

after cyberflood

during climate carnage

electric quit electric quit

halt hit automation

and we alone with nature

walk electric-less

nightdark

decomputered

lightless

human unsorted

unindexed

hungry and manual

sapient and feeble

eyes like moles

cyber fractured brains

when we stumble electric-less

as electric dies

nature gloats over

man’s painful exit

surprised angels cry

tears of earthrings

panicky thunder rings

as heavenly lightning reboots earth

network hexed trolls

win at the polls

MANHATTAN VESSEL (COPPER HIVE)

Selfies and live streams

fuse with Downtown dreams

an elixir of bits and blood

Italian espresso

Hudson smiles

awe and excitement

our vessel runneth over

joy floods the island

a giant dove forms

hovering above the skyline

scattering  leaves

of olive colored hearts

magical confetti

falling at the speed of

I Love New York
